The work of Louise Hay has played a big part in my life. I was listening to a podcast last week by Oprah Winfrey where she was interviewing Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer cited that she had done a lot of work with Louise Hay and this was fundamental to her own personal development and growth and what has made her the women she is today. It reminded me of the power of the work that we have inherited and I thought I would look to share her and her work with you as well as a short list of some healing affirmations that might come in useful in coping with the current lockdown.
I learnt about Louise Hay when I was experiencing some of my own struggles in my 30’s and my sister gave me a copy of the book ‘You Can Heal Your Life’ which opened a door for me to discover personal development and started me on my own personal development journey. Since that time I have given a copy of this book to other friends at pivotal times in their lives.
So who is Louise Hay? She is one of the key founders in the self-help movement that started in the USA. Most people think about self-healing techniques and positive psychology when they think of the work of Louise Hay. Truly, millions of people have learned how to create more of what they want in their lives through the use of positive affirmations and visualizations. All leading to more positive thought patterns for reversing mental and physical well-being challenges.
Louise lived through her own challenges. Whether that was the abuse she experienced in her childhood and teenage years or fighting and beating cancer in her later years. She used her own techniques and philosophy to help her live a happy and long successful life and passed on August 30th 2017 at the age of 90 years old.

So I just wanted to touch on positive and healing affirmations and list a few that might be good to help you cope with the current Covid-19 lockdown. These are statements said in the present tense to yourself and repeated on a regular basis. They should also be positive statements – full of hope and confidence and said and believed in that it is a true statement which will help you to heal and move forward with your personal growth.
Healing Affirmations to support us with the Pandemic:
+ This is a new day, one that I have never lived before. I stay in the now and enjoy each and every moment.
+ I release the need to control my life.
+ We are all family and the planet is our home.
+ Wellness is the natural state of my body.
+ My mind and body are in perfect balance. I am a harmonious being.
+ Nourishing myself is a joyful experience and I am worth the time spent on my healing.
+ I choose now to release all hurt and resentment.
+ Every experience I have is perfect for my growth.
+ I now free myself from destructive fears and doubts.
+ I am grateful for my healthy body. I love life.
+ All is well in my world.
+ My self esteem is high because I honour who I am.
+ I am comfortable looking in the mirror, saying “I love you, I really love you.”
I hope that this blog has given you a few things to think about and give you a few affirmations to consider using.
